It's not a joke. In a few moths, a BIG part of the first positions in Google will be YouTube videos. Without a YouTube channel, on certain searches, you won't have a chance for a position on the first page of Google.

Of course, not only Google and Youtube can drive users on your site. There are other ways as well such as direct visitors, facebook, instagram, linkedin, tiktok, reddit, discord, bing, twitter, pinterest, emails, you can read more on how to market your products and services here https://fromentireworld.blogspot.com/2022/02/integrated-marketing-communication.html. However, this blog post is about seo video with Youtube.

How SEO will look in the future and how to use YouTube to attract searches from Google

In March 2020, Google made a major update of its algorithm. It's not something completely special - it generally happens 2-3 times a year. However, this update was somehow more diferent from what was usual. Meaning? There are searches that people made IN GOOGLE - not in Youtube and for which videos FROM THE SITE attracted clicks.

To understand even more precisely: in some of articles, you should also have an embedded video. Somehow, after the March 2020 update, Google "learned" to link certain YouTube videos much better with the articles and to serve them to its searchers.

In other words, you will start to attract Google searches on your videos posted on the site.

Until the update, let`s say in 2019, it is possbile that the same article  had no more than 4-5 clicks the whole year, and after the update, on average about six clicks per day.

Even if you haven't changed anything. Because, Google has changed. And it clearly pushes more and will push YouTube even more.

What it means and how to take advantage of YouTube growth in Google

First, why this trend will increase a lot in the future?

1. Because it suits Google just fine
Google is Youtube, they are the same company. When does Google make more money? When does it send the visitor to a third site? or when it sends to its  web properties where Google can still sell advertising to him?

2. Leaving aside conspiracies, Google cannot completely fight against the current
Google has maintained its monopoly as a search engine and because it has done a much better job than its competitors. There are many alternatives, but they do not come with very precise results. It is more difficult to find what you want in any other search engines. Google has seen that recently, on certain searches, videos (Youtube) respond much better to users' searches.

If you are looking for "evening make-up tutorial" - what would you prefer to see? A video? or read an article?
If you are looking for "how to take to pieces + your laptop model" what would you prefer? A video? or an article?
If you are looking for "how to make + a lego model" - what would you prefer? an article? or a video?
If you search for "(any food) recipe" - do you think anyone wants to read something? or better, to watch a video?

For certain searches - not for all searches - a video responds much better to the user's need. And Google - with the help of machine learning - will be more and more efficient in identifying for each search what is wanted and will display - where appropriate, videos.

And Google will do it more and more in the future. And as a coincidence, or maybe that hastened the update, the pandemic accelerated the promotion through YouTube a lot.

In a few months, having a YouTube channel will be as mandatory as it is now to have a Facebook page and website.

How to profit?

1. Make a YouTube channel and start posting something. Preferably tutorials.

If you have a budget, work with a company that knows how. If not, search for tutorials on YouTube. It's not such a big deal. You can also start with your phone camera. The idea is to start somewhere.

2. After you have learned how to use videos, make an editorial plan and this means:

  • Make a list of keywords for which you want to attract traffic.

Search on Google those keywords and use your mind.

If videos do not appear on the first page in Google and if it has no logic to appear, delete the word from the list. Examples: air plane ticket + destination... , black men's shoes.
In essence, there are about 2 types of searches: informational and transactional. In the first phase, and for general searches, it is possible that only informational ones lend to video content. If videos appear in Google or if a video would be a good solution for that search, then keep the word in the list.

Sort the words from the list according to the search volume - monthly number of searches and the usefulness for you - how profitable that word is. After that, make an article and a video for each word.

Put a video link with the article in the description and mention it. Include video in the article, preferably with embed.

Recommendation: it works better if they are complementary, than if it is exactly the same thing but written and spoken.

If you do something ok, you will have a good chance of attracting traffic from Google.

After you done a video-article, promote it in as many places as possible.

3. After some time, you can see on the statistics which videos/articles are the most effective in attracting traffic or generating leads.

Take the first two or three and promote them with money.

4. Remember: they don't necessarily have to be completely new articles.

If certain topics you have written about in the past are still relevant, it is very good to revive older articles. But, don't change the article URL or general subject. Revise the text, remove what is no longer valid, add new and current content, change the date. Google will appreciate the fact that you have updated older content.

Make a video and attach it to the updated article. In general, to be effective, you need to redo/add at least 30% of the existing content.
